Residents meetings

Residents regular meetings include much discussion and suggestions on menu planning.

Nutrition and calories

Fluctuations in weight and changes in appetite are often an early symptom of illness. This is why our carers constantly monitor our residents’ food intake and record their weight and BMI at least once a month. This then informs further action we might take, for example referral to dietician.

Many residents need help to ensure that their daily intake contains enough calories to keep them healthy. We assist these residents by enhancing their food (for example) by adding cream and providing snack boxes in their room which contain tasty bite-sized pieces of food that we know they enjoy and that can be eaten at any time of the day.

In addition to our care staff, we employ designated Nutritional Support Workers 08.00 – 18.30 7 days a week on each unit, to assist with meals, drinks and menu choices.
