3rd National Dementia Ambassador's Conference
We were delighted to be able to attend this innovative and inspiring conference in Glasgow today, organised by the SSSC (Scottish Social Service Council).
The SSSC are passionate about promoting Dementia care in all areas and have initiated the Dementia Ambassador`s scheme to help with this. Anyone can sign up for this (www.sssc.uk.org then search for `Dementia Ambassador`) which just shows a willingness to promote good dementia care in all areas of life.
The conference was about `Inspiring for the future` and included talks from Care Inspectorate, SSSC and Scottish Care, amongst others. It was also a good opportunity to meet other Ambassadors from all over Scotland, including Shetland!
The range of innovative and great practice in Scotland which was shared during the day was excellent, including `Musical Minds`, a dementia choir from Ayrshire, that performed at the end of the conference.
The picture is of a board of `inspiration` we all added to, which included these words: `People forget what you say, people forget what you do, people never forget how you make them feel.` Very true!
