Chamberlain's Burns Supper 2020
Another year and another Burns Supper, and what an amazing evening we had ! The celebrations got off to a spectacular start with the Haggis being piped in by Jamie Goodbrand a student from George Watsons, the haggis was presented to all by one of our chefs. He was very proud, if bemused by the spectacle, not being a native of these bonnie shores!
The address to the Haggis was given by a friend of one of the residents, we do appreciate and make full use of talented friends and family members, who very kindly volunteered to help out this year; and he did not disappoint. Ken`s `Ode to the Great Chieftain of the puddin` -race`..... was dramatic in style and enjoyed by all. He also treated his audience to a few more of Burn`s poems and songs throughout the evening.
Before the meal began two of the residents blessed the meal by reciting the Selkirk Grace and if that wasn`t enough we where serenaded by the very talented Sarah Laing, who sang many favourite Burns songs ending the evening with the most well known "Auld Lang Syne"
