Edinburgh College 'Career in Care' Event
We were delighted to be invited to participate in this inaugral event, hosted by Edinburgh College.
Elder Homes and Edinburgh college (formerly Telford College) have worked in association for some years, with both Cluny and Chamberlain supporting HNC students. We have also had staff from Elder Homes going into the college to carry out teaching. This was a great opportunity to see other care providers and meet the work force of tomorrow!
The event was both well organised and well attended. This included the Exhibition and the Workshops, 2 of which were taken by Elder Homes.
It was very good to not only see, but get an opportunity, to talk to many young people who are looking to work within the care sector. This gave us a chance to see what their expectations are and to ensure they know the type of commitment, skills and people we, as a care service, are looking for.
We wish them all well in their future and hope some will indeed join us here at Elder Homes.
