Hand Hygiene
Although this picture looks a bit peculiar, it has a genuine, scientific purpose.
At Elder homes we take cleanliness and prevention of cross infection very seriously. For this reason, we have invested in a UV machine which, when used with this gel, shows up areas of hand hygiene people miss. These areas are most commonly the wrists and around the thumb.
By using this very visual teaching aid, staff are more aware of the importance of this area of hygiene, as well as how quickly germs could spread if hand hygiene is not at its best.
