SSSC Dementia Ambassador
We were joined today by Wendy Johnston from the Scottish Social Service Council to speak to us about the Promoting Excellence framework and becoming a Dementia Ambassador.
Here at Elder Homes we currently use the Promoting Excellence Framework http://www.sssc.uk.com/workforce-development/supporting-your-development/promoting-excellence-in-dementia-care to teach all our staff. It was good to see how this fits into the development of the Scottish dementia strategy, helping many people whose lives are effected by dementia.
The role of a Dementia Ambassador, is to help promote understanding around the dementia experience. Anyone can apply to be an ambassador, just email PromotingExcellence@sssc.uk.com
