VE DAY ORIGINAL FLAG!
Mrs E Donaldson can be seen here holding the original Union Jack flag that she had on VE Day itself. She worked for the Ministry of Food and was lucky enough to be based in London at the time and she has a vivid recall of the days events, the fun and excitement tinged with the overwhelming sense of relief. She remembers thinking at the time that "it was important to keep the flag". 75 years have now passed and it is looking pretty good, as is she I am sure you will agree!
