Visit from local MSP to Elder Homes
Following a request from residents of Cluny and Chamberlain, a visit was arranged from Jim Eadie, MSP, who brought Adam Errington, intern with him. The residents felt they wished to ask various questions, which they did - no holds barred!
The questions put forward to Mr Eadie included:
- Will there be another referendum? `Although there are no immediate plans, a 2nd referendum may happen if the Scottish people wish`
- How are you going to maintain Elderly care? `Looking at cutting down hospital admissions` (one person said it would be better if pavements were not so hazardous for people falling)
- How are you going to preserve the green-belt areas? `Already some applications have failed to build on green-belt areas, due to local opposition, this will continue`
Other subjects included: Parking; powers given to the Scottish Parliament; Welfare cuts and many others when Mr Eadie chatted to those present.
There was much heated debate but it was generally agreed that it had been a great opportunity to meet someone from Scottish Parliament.
