We waved and cheered as we remembered
Residents and staff enjoyed afternoon teas with homemade mini Victoria sponges as the centre pieces on the table. The drink to toast to all those lost in the war was done with a drink known as the Royal Cup which was again a nod to the times; a homemade cocktail made with Pimms, champagne and lemonade-delicious.With home made paper hats which were made with newspapers again in keeping with the times, mini Union Jack flags to wave and memories shared which was such a priviledge for the younger generations to hear.Red white and blue bunting and wartime posters around the homes. On a more poignant note we had the sillohettes of The Tommy`s in the windows.
